From January 6 to 8, 2026, the SingHealth Group (hereinafter referred to as "SingHealth") Nursing Special Training (Phase II) was successfully held at Tianjin Pengrui Li Health City. The three-day training focused on tackling clinical challenges and improving management capabilities. Through lectures by international experts and a combination of theory and practice, it provided a platform for international exchange and learning for key nursing personnel in the Tianjin area, promoting deeper cooperation between China and Singapore in the field of nursing.
As China's first wholly foreign-owned tertiary general hospital, Tianjin Pengrui Li Hospital successfully implemented the first phase of the nursing special training since establishing a strategic partnership with SingHealth last year, introducing international cutting-edge concepts and practical skills to the nursing team in Tianjin. The second phase of training represents a further extension of the cooperation between the two sides. SingHealth sent a team of four senior experts, including Associate Professor Xu Meiling and three other specialists, consisting of three nursing specialty trainers and one leadership training lecturer. Key nursing personnel from various medical institutions in Tianjin fully participated in the training.

At the sharing session, Mr. Liu Dan, Director of Tianjin Perennial Medical City and Director of Tianjin Perennial Hospital, stated in his speech that this training precisely addresses core clinical needs, focuses on tackling key challenges in nursing for critical care, orthopedics, and oncology, and simultaneously includes a module for improving nursing leadership. It combines professionalism, practicality, and foresight, and will cultivate more nursing backbones in Tianjin with solid professional qualities and an international perspective.

During the training, Associate Professor Xu Meiling, Vice Chair of the Clinical Nursing Academy at Xinbao Group, conducted systematic lectures on core topics such as nursing leadership and management, clinical nursing, nursing innovation research, and quality improvement. She elaborated on how to provide excellent service through team collaboration and provided a detailed introduction to Singapore's systematic nursing development framework, which includes professional and career development, employee health, outcome measurement, and benchmark evaluation. In the career development section, she focused on explaining Singapore nurses' SMART program, nurse leader mentorship program, and other key initiatives.

The course also focuses on nursing quality management and clinical innovation, explaining the closed-loop management processes and performance improvement systems from planning to implementation. In terms of nursing education, she shared cooperative continuing education and the SMART training model, systematically illustrating diversified career development paths in nursing, including research, management, and education, and emphasizing the service concept of enhancing patient experience through empathy with case examples.

After three days of systematic study and practical exchanges, all the participating nursing backbones successfully completed various learning tasks. With their solid knowledge absorption ability and practical transformation ideas, they received unanimous recognition and affirmation from the expert team of the Singapore Health Services Group.

It is understood that after the training concludes, the participants will accurately apply the specialized nursing cutting-edge technologies, international management experience, and innovative service concepts they have learned to clinical practice, focusing on improving nursing quality in areas such as critical care, orthopedics, and oncology, effectively promoting the nursing services of their institutions to steadily advance toward safer, higher-quality, and more humane directions.
