With these discussions and reflections from the Two Sessions in mind, the reporter visited the South Station area to see how the comprehensive health and wellness complex next to the high-speed rail station, along with regional public service facilities, is supporting a high-quality life through optimized layout and attentive service—"After living here for about half a year, I feel more and more at home," said Grandma Li, who has gray hair, smiling in Tianjin Perennial Health Care Community. Living alone, she underwent surgery, and post-operative care became a challenge. "My children are not around, and relatives recommended this place," she recalled. "Before I was discharged, the staff visited the hospital in advance to understand my condition and rehabilitation needs; on the day of discharge, a special vehicle took me there—they took care of me very thoroughly!

Meals are delivered to the room on time, someone checks in on you every day, and regularly 'reports' your condition to your family... Beyond these daily routines, what is even more reassuring is the medical support. 'After surgery, removing the stitches is handled at the nursing home downstairs. If I forget how to take my medication, the nurses here directly communicate with my surgeon. Health care is connected with medical support, it's very reassuring!' Grandma Li sighed.

At the same time, the hospital is setting its sights on the global medical market, signing an agreement with GE Healthcare to jointly establish a full-cycle oncology management and precision diagnosis and treatment center, introducing high-precision imaging artificial intelligence assessment systems and internationally advanced testing technologies; establishing a well-known bone tumor expert studio, allowing high-quality expert resources to 'flow' here through the multi-site practice policy.

Moreover, the hospital once treated a foreign patient with recurrent hypokalemia who, after long-term unsuccessful treatment in their home country, came to Tianjin for medical care through an online consultation. The expert team diagnosed the patient and provided symptomatic treatment. "The advantage of Chinese doctors lies in the large volume of surgical procedures, clinical experience, and biotechnology research and development. Facing global medical competition, Liu Dan confidently stated that from 'seeking medical care abroad' to 'seeking medical care in China,' such cases will become more and more common.

Walking out of the hospital, I looked up and saw high-speed trains shuttling through Tianjin South Station.

This spring, good news about this place has been arriving one after another. Not long ago, the planning of Tianjin South Railway Station received major news. According to the "Opinions on Promoting the Integrated Development of 'Station-Industry-City'" issued by the municipal government, Tianjin South Railway Station is positioned as a 'New Quality Productivity Innovation and Collaboration Zone in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region,' with plans to start expansion in 2026. The waiting area will increase by about 4,500 square meters. The urban functions and development level of the entire South Station area will undergo comprehensive improvement.

In this area, just a few kilometers away is a busy construction site, while on the other side there is a tranquil and serene wellness complex, allowing people to experience a balance between activity and calm, motion and order.

A relevant official from Xiqing District explained that entering the 15th Five-Year Plan period, the district will continue to promote deep integration of the elderly care sector with industry, deepen the medical-care integration mechanism, promote smart services such as "Internet + Elderly Care," support high-end wellness projects to become regional benchmarks, extend high-quality services to communities, and allow international and professional wellness services to benefit a broader group, better serving the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei.
