From March 14 to 15, 2026, Tianjin Pengruili Health City successfully held the 2026 professional training on rehabilitation nursing treatment for dysphagia. The training specially invited Professor Dou Zulin, a leading expert in the field of dysphagia in China and the head of the Rehabilitation Medicine Department at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, as the lead lecturer. Rehabilitation therapists, nurses, and elderly care staff from across the country enthusiastically participated in the training. Colleagues from Pengruili Group's medical and elderly care projects in Xi’an and Kunming also came to Tianjin specifically for exchange, gathering with participants from various regions to jointly witness this high-level academic event. This training is a practical measure by Pengruili Group to promote the distribution of high-quality medical resources and is also an important practice for deepening the medical and health layout and strengthening internal collaboration.

The training focuses on swallowing disorders, stemming from a precise insight into the needs of an aging society. With the rise in the incidence of neurological degenerative diseases such as stroke and Alzheimer's disease, swallowing dysfunction, as a common complication, poses a serious threat to the health and life of the elderly. However, professionals proficient in standardized swallowing rehabilitation techniques are still relatively scarce, and there is a significant technical gap at the grassroots level. Pengruili Group has always regarded the improvement of professional care capacity and rehabilitation skills as a strategic priority, continuously carrying out professional training to allow high-quality services and professional rehabilitation to benefit more elderly people.

This training course adopted a combined approach of 'theoretical lectures, on-site demonstrations, and practical operations.' The curriculum covered key practical content such as swallowing function assessment, intermittent tube feeding, and airway sputum care. After the concentrated lectures concluded, Professor Dou Zulin conducted bedside consultations for elderly residents at risk of swallowing dysfunction, going in depth through the corridor seamlessly connected to the Tianjin Pengruili Hospital and the Tianjin Pengruili Healthcare Community.

Tianjin Pengruili Senior Care Community, as a large flagship one-stop medical-nursing integrated senior community built and managed by Pengruili Group, truly achieves a deep integration of medical care, rehabilitation, and elderly care — seniors can enjoy the full chain of services from health management and disease diagnosis and treatment to rehabilitation care and daily living assistance without leaving the community. Here, medical resources and elderly care needs are perfectly connected, fully reflecting Pengruili Group's strategic concept of 'medical-nursing integration and all-age care.'

During the teaching process, Professor Dou Zulin combined actual cases of elderly residents with on-site observation of swallowing movements and eating responses. Using the advanced equipment at Tianjin Pengruili Rehabilitation Hospital, he systematically demonstrated the key points of the volume-viscosity swallow test operation, and explained how to reduce the risk of aspiration through methods such as posture adjustment and food texture selection based on individual conditions. Colleagues from Xi'an and Kunming, combining their own institutional practical experience, also engaged in in-depth exchanges with Professor Dou and the Tianjin team, jointly exploring the forefront and practical key points of rehabilitation techniques. This kind of cross-regional internal group business exchange has laid a solid foundation for the Pengruili Group to build a professional rehabilitation care system.

All nursing staff at Tianjin Pengruili Elderly Care Community followed the learning throughout the process and sought on-site guidance from Professor Dou for difficult issues in daily care. Professor Dou answered each question and demonstrated the standard procedures. By bringing the classroom to the bedside of the elderly and inviting experts to the frontline of care, this training model has achieved a complete teaching loop from theoretical lectures to clinical practice, promoting seamless integration of medical care and elderly care in service scenarios, allowing professional care to move from books to the bedside, and truly transforming into practical ability to serve the elderly.

The trainees gave positive feedback on this training, unanimously agreeing that the content was closely aligned with the practical work at the grassroots level, possessing both theoretical depth and practical guidance value. Several rehabilitation therapists indicated that through systematic learning of swallowing function assessment and intervention techniques, they further enhanced the standardization of clinical operations, laying a solid foundation for carrying out precise rehabilitation services.

In the future, Pengruili Group will continue to leverage high-quality international and domestic resources, deeply advance the practice of integrating medical care and elderly care, empower professional teams through regular training, and respond to societal expectations with high-quality services. The group will promote coordinated efforts across its projects in Tianjin, Xi'an, Kunming, and other locations, making Pengruili Health City, located just across the street from Tianjin South Station, as well as Pengruili medical and health projects nationwide, truly become important engines for enhancing regional medical capabilities and tangible sources of welfare for the public.
